Portastand

Founded by Bob Evanoff in 2001, Portastand is a Minnesota-based company that has been offering premium quality portable music stands and accessories. Out of his frustration caused by wiry stands, Evanoff decided to make his own: a strong and durable lightweight tripod made entirely out of steel. Later on, the company began producing several kinds of stands, all characterized by their unparalleled durability and strong, patented aluminum hinge.

Portastand's music stands include the Troubadour (for snares), Minstrel (for auxiliary percussion instruments), Minster Deluxe, Commoner, and Protégé. The line expanded with the addition of universal shelf extensions, wind resistors, Minstrel bag, and shelf lip cover, as well as the Mighty Bright® Duet and Duet2 stand lights. Aside from instrument stands, high quality microphone stands are available in compact and extend-a-leg variety, as well as the Jester (comprised of a universal tablet mount and the extend-a-leg mic stand). Portastand also offers a wide range of accessories, including the bow clip, Gooseneck, sidekick, super sidekick, and telescoping mic boom arm.
