The JP181 features good quality white leather padding and a strong, well designed keywork. Both variants include an adjustable thumb rest as standard and silver plated plateau key throughout. Constructed from ebonite, the JP181 is lightweight, durable and requires less maintenance compared to wooden models.

The JP181 C Oboe is supplied with high quality case with hard cased interior and a canvas outer covering. The case includes an internal dust cover and small compartment for reeds and other small accessories. The case is supplied with a comfortable shoulder strap and external storage pocket for storing music and larger accessories.
