Powell Flutes
Jean Ferrandis, Musician - Flutist - Conductor
Following the New England tradition of craftsmanship and commitment to excellence, Verne Q. Powell Flutes manufactures top-of-the-line flutes and piccolos. Founded in 1927 by Verne Powell in a small workshop in Boston, Massachusetts, the brand has been used by some of the most prominent flutists of that era, including William Kincaid, Arthur Lora, and John Wummer. By 1930, Powell Flutes has made its way to prestigious orchestras in Baltimore, Boston, Cleveland, Detroit, New York, and Philadelphia. The company's skillful mastery of hand crafting, aided by the latest innovations in technology, made the brand the top choice among flutists. Powell's selection of flutes includes Handmade Custom, Handmade Conservatory, Signature, and Powell Sonaré, as well as handmade headjoints. On the other hand, Powell piccolos are available in three kinds: Handmade Custom, Signature, and Powell Sonaré PS-750. Each Powell flute or piccolo is designed for optimal performance, preferred by solo and orchestral artists from all over the world, including Roberto Alvarez, Antonio Amenduni, Aldo Baerten, Philippe Bernold, Bridget Bolliger, and Bonita Boyd.
