Bari Reeds

Bari Reeds

Bari Reeds was established in 1952 by musician Wolfe Taninbaum, who designed the original Bari reeds and mouthpieces out of his frustration with inconsistent playable reeds. Taninbaum, known by his stage name Wolfe Tayne, played for well-known orchestras including Les Brown, Benny Goodman, and Jimmy Dorsey, as well as for the CBS and NBC orchestras. Taninbaum's synthetic reed gained prominence amongst some of the top musicians in the world, followed by his creation of a unique facing for alto and tenor mouthpieces that produce a dark, husky resonance in saxophones.

Bari Reeds offers the best Bb and bass clarinet mouthpieces; soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone sax mouthpieces; and synthetic reeds in the market. Keith Cooper, Jeff Hendrick, Claire Daly, BK Jackson, Steve Lehman, Toby Karlin, Adam Larson, Mike Smith, John Sax Williams, and Marc Mommaas are some of the distinguished names that use Bari Reeds.
