I started using this gold Bay ligature on my Rubber Otto Link 8 Slant, about 6 months ago, and boy what a difference. It is the finest ligature, with 2 screws on top. The reed is held on by a plus sign reed plate (kind of like crosshairs shotgun site), The screws needs to be oiled with synthetic sax key oil and now they are velvety smooth. The gold plating is beautiful. This ligature is loud and super responsive, great for bebop jazz and big band jazz. I recently performed a solo sax funeral and I could count of this ligature. The tone was pure, and clear, the screws are so precise,and it fits beautifully. A perfect ligature. BRAVO!

I was a devoted Bonade inverted user but I've always wanted one of the Bay ligatures. I've been using a gold Bay for several years now. It works well and allows good vibration without interfering with the sound. That's a ligature's job description in my book!
