JP Smith Watkins Trumpets

Smith-Watkins is a company that is proudly founded on groundbreaking and cutting-edge academic research and expert handmade craftsmanship that is uniquely versatile of each musician, which, in turn, personalizing the experience. Smith-Watkins instruments have been at the forefront of British instrument industry since 1985, offering a wide array of state-of-the-art fanfare trumpets, trumpets, cornets, flugelhorns, tenor horns, and instrument cases and accessories. In addition, it also offers a special range of 15 interchangeable leadpipes by having the customer's instrument converted by company-authorized repairers. Founded by Richard Smith and Derek Watkins, the two have combined their expertise to develop what is known today as the industry-standard handmade instruments. Smith-Watkins collaborated with JP Musical Instruments in 2008, featuring an exclusively designed Smith-Watkins Leadpipe. The company has been contractors to the Ministry of Defence since 2005, designing, manufacturing, and supplying specialist brass instruments to most of the British military bands, played in various important public events, such as the beginning and end of the Grand National (Britain's most famous horse race), the Royal Wedding in 2011, the ceremonies to mark the Jubilee in 2012, and the opening of the London 2012 Olympics.
